  • Trois Becs path restoration

    Posted on January 12, 2015

This is a footpath where the staff of Ecogarde, La Drôme where wondering how to repair it and we at INTO introduced them to the National Trust (England, Wales and Northern Ireland’s) footpath teams in the Lake District where we spent a week before the teams came back here to see the problem for themselves. The result of this exchange lead to the footpath being magnificently restored and reopened to the public the year before last.

This letter was received from Olivier Chambon regarding the Linear Path on the Trois Becs
    Dear Madame, Monsieur
In June 2011, the Department of Drôme undertook the rehabilitation and making safe the iconic trail from the Col de la Chaudière No Siara in state forest Saoû. Since then, the Department continues requalification work of all the linear path of the Trois Becs.
As part of this project, a film was commissioned to a local professional filmmaker. Over a period of 8 minutes, it traces the unfolding of the project and highlights the exemplary and innovative approach of the project carried out by combining its social dimensions (work integration), economic (local businesses) and environmental (preservation and enhancement local resources).
This film entitled “Restoring the trail from the Col de la Chaudiere to the Pas de Siara”, through its educational and demonstrative approach is of interest to departments, local authorities, managers of natural areas or training centers positioned on the field the achievement and maintenance of hiking trails.
