While we are working on establishing a newsletter for information on common topics of interest, we did not want to miss the opportunity to bring to your attention the recently launched EU Call for Proposals SWITCH Asia II.
The global objective of the call is to promote sustainable growth, to contribute to the economic prosperity and poverty reduction in Asia and to mitigate climate change.
The specific objective for this Call for Proposals is to promote sustainable production and sustainable consumption patterns and behaviours in Asia. The Programme aims at identifying and scaling up successful SCP practices in Asia in order to induce a systematic change in consumption and production patters and behaviour.
Please note that the focus of this initiative is directly related to the 10 Year Framework of Programmes, including tourism and projects should address one of the two listed priorities of the call, namely: support the switch to SCP patterns among consumer groups, civil society and the public sector; and MSMEs support for SCP uptake and access to finance.

In addition, please note that the call ‘Promoting Sustainable Consumption and Production Practices and Eco-entrepreneurship’ organized by UNOPS on SWITCH Africa Green deadline which has been extended to 26 January 2015. SWITCH Africa Green has been developed to support African countries in their transition to an Inclusive Green Economy and in promoting a shift to more SCP practices and patterns. The call is directed to country specific projects promoting SCP practices the sectors of manufacturing, tourism, agriculture, and waste management.
