The founders of the Trust

Taking inspiration from Octavia Hill

Towards the end of her life, Octavia Hill wrote: “New circumstances require various efforts; and it is the spirit, not the dead form, that should be perpetuated. When the time comes that we slip from our places, and they are called to the front as leaders, what should they inherit from us? … We shall leave them a few houses, …

Half Way Point!

I am officially half way finished with my internship with INTO, and hopefully more than half-way finished with my case studies.  This last week brought in more research, and a huge thank you to all the organizations that are answering my questions and participating in the case studies for the “INTO Action” programme. THE ENTEBBE DECLARATION

It is now 9 months since the Entebbe Declaration was signed.   It seems a good time to remind ourselves of the commitments we all made when signing the document.

The Declaration calls for Global Action to Protect and Promote Tangible and Intangible Heritage, especially within the Least Economically Developed Nations.

While INTO as an organisation can promote this agenda on a global scale, the real work in promoting these values must fall to our member organizations in their respective countries.  Please take a moment to reread the Declaration and ask yourselves what you have accomplished in this regard and what you can do further to advance these ideals.

Copies of the Entebbe Declaration are posted on the website in English, Chinese and Spanish on the Campaigns page.
