2018年工作假期

We are delighted to offer an expanded selection of the very popular overseas working holidays for Summer 2018.

These holidays are organised and run independently by members of the International National Trusts Organisation (INTO), which is the focal point for the worldwide National Trust movement. We hope there’s something you will enjoy from the many activities listed below including path clearance on the Amalfi Coast, restoration of a traditional house in the Chinese mountains, castle conservation in the Czech Republic, stone masonry in the South of France or organic gardening in Romania.

Italy

These holidays are organised by FAI – Fondo Ambiente Italiano – the National Trust for Italy. It was established as a non-profit organisation in 1975 to protect and take care of special places in Italy for the benefit of people today and future generations. FAI has organised working holidays for individuals aged 20-26 years of age since 2013 as a way of engaging young people in heritage conservation. For the first time we are offering a selection here:

Discover the Bio-diversity of the Bosco di San Francesco (St Francis’ Woodland), Assisi

The working holiday (20-26 year olds): Join us in helping to maintain and promote this beautiful woodland environment, a haven of peace and tranquillity in Assisi. The forest has grown and evolved over millennia and its many trails follow in the wake of its earliest residents, including St Francis. Tasks will be varied and include gardening – caring for the olive trees, maintaining footpaths – and working on a marketing project that will help to raise awareness of the property. There is also the chance to take a guided tour of Assisi and take part in a nature trek in the forest to discover the fantastic flora and fauna.

Please note that some of the tasks may be physically arduous and it is essential that participants are willing to travel the 3 kilometres which connects the Basilica of San Francesco to the Benedictine complex of Santa Croce (some climbing involved) and a flatter route which allows access to a large clearing featuring a medieval tower. From here it is possible to see the work of land art ‘Terzo Paradiso’ (Third Paradise) by Michaelangelo Pistoletto.

Accommodation: In a shared apartment with kitchen. You will need to take your own bedding, towels are provided. The cost includes 6 lunches and 1 dinner. The remaining dinners can be cooked in the apartment.

All practices are respectful of humans and nature.
